The food is amazing-tortillas from scratch on a street corner. Tinga and chile relleno are the best.

I see why this place is famous. I tried my first chile relleno taco here. Perfection. Excellent food. Great service. (Don't worry if your Spanish isn't good. Menu is also in Englis, but don't let that turn you off.) Definitely add to your Oaxaca "to do" list.

My wife and I visited Tacos Del Carmen for a quick lunch on a recent trip to Oaxaca. We ordered two Tacos de Quesillo: con Chile Relleno and con Chicharrones. The Chile Relleno was filled with spicy tender peppers, meat and cheese. The Chicharrones were filled with gooey cheese and juicy meaty chicarrones. The tortilla shells were a bit on the hard side but the flavors were delicious.

4.5 stars! We happened upon Tacos Del Carmen and it was yum! They were out of most things we wanted to try so we settled for a few things that were left and enjoyed most of them! I would definitely recommend arriving early to get your pick. It's a little food stand, but there is one bench if you get lucky enough to find space on. The ladies were very nice.

Really nice pork tacos and empanada de Amarillo. Very hot off the grill so beware for mouth burns! Tasty and worth a stop.

Excellent fresh food that is very authentic with friendly service and service at a brisk pace. Nothing but delicious hot food at a very good price.

Really good quesadillas. The staff is very kind and attentive. Great spot for yummy food at a great price.

Everyone loves this street corner food stand. Fresh corn MASA made into 10" tortillas cooked on a coal-fired comal in front of you, and topped with your favorite toppings of mushrooms, herbs, quesilla cheese, shredded chicken, mild chorizo, and salsa. Stools are provided for sitting and eating on the site, or they can pack it to go. There is some shade, too. As expected, prices are dirt cheap. You can either have a taco which is rolled tortilla with the fillings, or a quesadilla which is the same taco but flattened into a half circle. Your choice. Go across the street and get a wonderful coconut Tecate soft drink from the stand there, and follow up with a niece (ice cream) from the next stand over, and you've had a perfect meal and probably still haven't spent even $5.

Legendary taco stand that lives up to the reputation. Multiple selection at a very good price. Super fast service. Some English spoken. Incredibly nice people. They are only open until 3:30 each afternoon so be sure to make it. I like them for breakfast. The salsa verde is spicy and delicious. Please remember to tip generously. People are struggling here due to massive drops in tourism.
